Stop Apologizing. Start Playing.
Building the foundation of girls' lacrosse in Cedar Park & Leander.
No perfection required. Just grit, growth, and a willingness to try.
We Don't Have Trophies. We Have a Blueprint.
Most established clubs expect your daughter to fit into a mold they cast five years ago. We don't. We are a brand-new program, which means the girls who join us this season aren't just joining a team—they are building the culture.
We aren't looking for girls who already know how to play. We are looking for girls who want to learn how to fall down, figure out what went wrong, and get back up faster the next time.
So, What Are We Actually Doing Out There?
If we aren't obsessing over perfect passing and an undefeated inaugural season, what exactly are you paying us to teach them twice a week? Simple. We are using a stick and a ball to teach them how to handle themselves.
1. Taking up Space
The world expects teenage girls to shrink. We teach them to take the field. Lacrosse is fast, physical, and loud. We teach our players to communicate, to command their territory, and to realize they have every right to be exactly where they are.
2. Failing Forward
Your daughter is going to drop the ball. She is going to miss the net. She is going to run the wrong play. That is the entire point. We are stripping away the anxiety of "getting it perfect" and replacing it with the confidence of knowing she is strong enough to handle a mistake.
3. Strength Over Status
We don't care what brand of cleats she wears or if she's the fastest girl in her grade. We care about effort. We are building athletes who trust their own physical strength and trust the teammates standing next to them.
The Practical Reality (How This Actually Works).
Building resilience and redefining youth sports in the Hill Country is great, but it doesn't mean a thing if you don't know where to park your car on a Tuesday night. Because it’s our inaugural season, we’ve stripped the logistics down to be as painless as possible for the parents.
It’s our inaugural season, and we’re making it as simple as possible for you to say yes.
- The Investment: Gear can be a hurdle. We get it. You need to know what it costs. A decent stick and set of goggles is going to run you about $130 and should last several seasons.
- The Schedule: January through May. Two practices a week, games on Saturdays. We demand hard work when they are on the field, but we won't monopolize your entire family's life.
- The Locations: Practices are held locally at Brushy Creek and Lakeline Park. Games across the Austin area.
- The Cost: Stay tuned
Where She Belongs.
Now that you know this won't require a second mortgage or entirely ruin your weekends, let's talk about where she actually goes. We don't just throw fifty girls on a field, hand them sticks, and hope for the best. The game, and what we expect from them, scales with their age.
- Bantam Green (K-2nd): The introduction. We focus on basic motor skills, holding a stick, and realizing that running around a field with your friends is actually a lot of fun.
- Lightning Green (3rd-4th): Building the foundation. We start teaching the mechanics of the game while constantly reinforcing that effort is more important than outcome.
- Junior Green (5th-6th): Developing confidence. The game gets faster. We teach them how to handle pressure, rely on their teammates, and trust their own decisions on the field.
- Senior Green (7th-8th): The proving ground. We prepare them physically and mentally for the transition to high school, focusing on leadership, resilience, and advanced field IQ.
The hardest part is walking onto the field the first time.
We'll take it from there. Join the foundation of Cannons Girls Lacrosse.
